A "Salute to Moms" is the theme of the 24th annual RSVP Spring Fun Fair at Mills Park.

The fair, which begins today and lasts through Sunday, is a fundraiser for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.

The four-day Fun Fair features the Inland Empire Shows carnival, which includes games and 30 exciting rides such as the Sea Ray Pirate Ship, Zipper, Super Tilt-a-Whirl, European Bumper Cars, Glass House and a merry-go-round, plus lots of kiddie rides.

A new addition this year is the "Altitude Adjustment" attraction " a 25-foot climbing wall plus two Euro-bungee jumps for both kids and adults. The combined wall climb and bungee jump offers two adventures in one. You can conquer one or all four challenging climbing routes, or bungee jump and flip to heights of 25 feet.

The fair also includes great food and beverages including beer, wine and mixed drinks, plus arts, crafts and a variety of novelties.

On Sunday, Mother's Day, all moms ride all the carnival rides, all day, for free with a ticketed child.

It's RSVP's salute and thank you to all the great moms of Northern Nevada.

All-day ride passes cost $25. Discount coupons for $10 off can be downloaded at www.funNbiz.com. Each day, mom or dad can ride all day for only $5 with a ticketed child.

Also this year everyone receives five "Carnival Buck" coupons when they purchase a sheet of 10 ride tickets or an all-day ride pass worth $5 in food, drink and game discounts.

Only 50 advance-sale super tickets are available at $40, which includes one unlimited ride stamp plus 10 food and game tokens. Go to www.funNbiz.com to purchase.

On Thursday and Friday, the fair is open 4 -11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours are noon to 11 p.m.

Proceeds from the fair go toward RSVP's Home Companion and Lifeline Programs, which help Carson area low-income and homebound seniors to remain independent and in their homes.
