RENO " A judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a former women's soccer coach against the University of Nevada, saying the university was justified in firing Terri Patraw.
The case had been set for trial next week.
In a ruling issued late Tuesday, Washoe District Judge Patrick Flanagan said evidence failed to support Patraw's claim that she was fired in August 2007 for reporting alleged rule violations within UNR's athletic department.
The judge added that while Patraw was commended in performance evaluations, her tenure at Nevada also brought turmoil and controversy.
University officials said Patraw had threatened to resign numerous times before athletic administrators accepted.
