TRUCKEE " While police are not releasing any more information on a suspected homicide in Tahoe Donner, friends say the victim's death has saddened the community.
Truckee Police, the California Department of Justice, and the FBI are investigating the death of Beverly Beatrice Williams, 77, who was found in her Tahoe Donner Home on Bavarian Way last Thursday, April 30.
Ruth Hall, who worked with Williams in the Friends of the Truckee Library, said Williams was kind, passionate, and gave to the community.
"We are going to miss Bev (Williams) terribly," Hall said. "We are shocked and really saddened by this tragedy."
Williams and her Husband, Don, came to Truckee in the 80s for skiing, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors, she said.
Truckee Police Lt. Harwood Mitchell said circumstances at the scene lead the police to investigate the death as a homicide, but wouldn't elaborate further.
"We don't have any identified suspects at this time," Mitchell said Wednesday. "But we don't see any need for the community to panic " just be diligent."
The original call was reported by a family member, and Truckee Police and Truckee Fire responded with medical aid.
Anyone with information is asked to call Truckee Police at (530) 550-2324.
