Washoe County Investigators are asking for the public's help today in the Mother's Day killing of 17-year-old Rene Angulo on Sunday.
"Washoe County Sheriff's Detectives request anyone who saw the vehicle ... in the vicinity of Highway 50 and the 395 north bound on ramp in Carson City, on Mother's Day, May 10th between the hours of 12:20 p.m. and 12:35 p.m., to please call them at 328-3320, or Secret Witness at 322-4900," wrote Deputy Brooke Keast, spokesperson for the Washoe County Sheriff's Department.
A passerby was wounded and Angulo was shot to death and his body left on the side of the road about 12:35 p.m. Sunday.
The suspected killer, Steven Contreras, also known as Victor Rodriguez, 24, was captured 90 minutes later and is being held in the Washoe County Jail.
Witnesses reported last seeing Angulo alive at the El Pollo Loco on Highway 50 East at about noon on Sunday.

Also today, Fitzhenry's Funeral home said this morning that a viewing for Rene Angulo has been changed to Thursday from 2-6 p.m.
Angulo, 17, was killed Sunday in Washoe Valley allegedly by a man who then took his vehicle and shot at a passerby who'd stopped to help.
A visitation that was set for today has been cancelled and will take place tomorrow at Fitzhenry's Funeral Home in Carson City, 3945 Fairview Dr. from 2-6 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church on Lompa Lane on Friday at 4 p.m.
Jim Smolenski, general manager of Fitzhenry's, said they will be accepting donations on the behalf of the Angulo family to help with funeral costs.
Checks should be made out to Fitzhenry's Funeral Home with "For Rene Angulo" in the memo portion of the checks.
Cash donations and checks can be dropped off at the funeral home, or checks or money orders can be mailed to Fitzhenry's Funeral Home, 3945 Fairview Dr., Carson City, Nevada, 89701.
