SAN FRANCISCO (AP) " David Wright hit a tiebreaking RBI single in the ninth inning and finished with four of New York's franchise-record seven stolen bases, leading the Mets to a 7-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday night.

Wright had three hits and drove in two runs for New York, which has won nine of 11. Gary Sheffield and Carlos Beltran each had two hits and Ramon Castro had two RBIs.

Sheffield, Beltran and Alex Cora also stole a base for New York, which ran wild on the basepaths with speedy Jose Reyes sitting out with a stiff right calf.

John Maine yielded two runs and seven hits in 6 2-3 innings but got a no-decision when Mets reliever Bobby Parnell (2-0) gave up RBI hits to Jose Uribe and Edgar Renteria in the eighth.

Dodgers 5, Phillies 3

PHILADELPHIA (AP) " Russell Martin hit a tiebreaking double in the 10th inning and Matt Kemp followed with an RBI double to lift the Los Angeles Dodgers over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Chad Durbin (1-1) retired the first two batters, then walked Andre Ethier. Martin doubled for a 4-3 lead and after an intentional walk, Kemp delivered.

The Dodgers, minus the suspended Manny Ramirez, won two of three in a rematch of the NL championship series.

Jonathan Broxton (4-0) earned the win despite blowing a two-run lead with two outs in the ninth. Ramon Troncoso pitched a scoreless 10th to earn his second save, striking out Ryan Howard with a runner on to end it.

The Phillies wrecked a strong outing from Chad Billingsley with a two-out, two-run rally in the ninth against Broxton that made it 3-all.

Cubs 11, Padres 3

CHICAGO (AP) " Bobby Scales hit a pair of two-run doubles and Ryan Dempster excelled with both his arm and bat as Chicago took advantage of 10 walks to beat skidding San Diego.

Adrian Gonzalez homered for the fourth consecutive game but couldn't prevent San Diego from losing its 11th straight on the road, its longest skid in 38 years. Since starting the season 10-6, the Padres are 3-16.

Dempster (3-2) allowed two runs and three hits over seven innings. He also drove in two runs with a double and a single as the Cubs completed their first three-game sweep of the Padres at home since 1999.

San Diego was outscored 42-18 during an 0-6 road trip.

Chicago, which has a four-game winning streak, matched its season high for runs despite playing without Aramis Ramirez, Derrek Lee and Milton Bradley. Ramirez is on the disabled list and the other sluggers were given the day off.

Chad Gaudin (0-3) issued seven walks in 4 1-3 innings for the Padres, who lead the majors with 148 walks allowed.

Brewers 5, Marlins 3

MILWAUKEE (AP) " Prince Fielder hit a go-ahead homer and Dave Bush turned in another strong start for Milwaukee, which finished a three-game sweep of Florida.

Trevor Hoffman earned his eighth save and has yet to give up a run in nine innings this season. The Brewers have won nine of 11 and begin a nine-game road trip at St. Louis on Friday night.

It was the fourth straight loss for the Marlins and a short afternoon for Josh Johnson, who walked five in only four innings.

Fielder connected in the fifth off reliever Burke Badenhop (2-2). J.J. Hardy added an RBI single in the sixth for a 5-3 lead.

Bush (2-0) struck out seven and gave up two earned runs in seven innings. He has lasted seven innings in each of his last three starts, giving up three runs or less each time out.

Astros 5, Rockies 3

DENVER (AP) " Wandy Rodriguez struck out a career-high 11 and Michael Bourn stole home on the back end of a double steal, leading Houston over Colorado.

One of baseball's fastest runners, Bourn tied a career high with four hits and finished with two stolen bases. Carlos Lee homered for the Astros.

Rodriguez (4-2) allowed two earned runs in seven innings, raising his ERA to 1.90 " still among the lowest in the majors. Chris Sampson worked a perfect eighth and LaTroy Hawkins got his fifth save.

The Rockies committed three errors behind starter Jason Hammel (0-2), who gave up four runs " one earned " in 5 1-3 innings.

Cardinals 5, Pirates 1

PITTSBURGH (AP) " Colby Rasmus' two-run homer in the second inning gave St. Louis' slumping offense a lift and the Cardinals avoided being swept by last-place Pittsburgh.

The Cardinals had lost five consecutive games in Pittsburgh and were in jeopardy of being swept in a three-game series for the first time since Sept. 12-14, also at PNC Park. Depleted by injuries, St. Louis had lost four of five and seven of 10.

Trever Miller (1-0) escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fifth to earn the win. Five Cardinals relievers shut out the Pirates on three hits over the final 4 2-3 innings.

Albert Pujols added a two-run single for St. Louis.

The Pirates lost their 13th in 16 games despite outscoring the Cardinals 12-3 in the first two games of the series. Jeff Karstens (1-2) gave up three runs and seven hits over six innings.
