Gold Dust West posts 1Q loss

Gold Dust West in Reno earned $1.5 million on revenues of $4.6 million in the first quarter compared with earnings of $1.5 million on revenues of $4.9 million a year earlier. Gold Dust West in Carson City lost $133,000 on revenues of $2.9 in the quarter, which compares with a loss of $340,000 and revenues of $3.3 million in the comparable year-earlier quarter. The properties are owned by Jacobs Entertainment Inc. of Golden, Colo.

Phoenix International profits drop

Phoenix International Ventures, a Carson City supplier to the aerospace and defense industries, lost $59,977 on sales of $931,842 in the first quarter. A year earlier, it earned $558,972 on sales of $471,166 " results that included a one-time recovery of a contingency totaling $566,154.
