(AP) " Measures dealing with nurse-to-patient ratios, off-road vehicle registration were among measures winning approval in the Nevada Assembly and Senate on Saturday.
The Senate voted for SB394, to require registration of off-road vehicles, or ORVs, with the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. Sen. Dean Rhoads, R-Tuscarora, said the plan wouldn't take effect until it can be adequately funded.
The Assembly concurred in Senate amendments to AB389, which would help prevent identity theft by making less credit card information available on printed receipts. The bill would prohibit printing more than the last five digits of credit card numbers and expiration dates.
The Senate voted 14-5 for AB121, calling for nurse-to-patient ratios to ensure safety of hospital patients. Advocates of the measure said that when nurses have too many people to look after, there's a risk of patients dying.
