'Puttin' on the Ritz' coming up

The Carson City Senior Center presents Senior Follies 2009 "Puttin' on the Ritz," 7 p.m. Friday, May 28, and Saturday, May 29, and 2 p.m., Sunday, May 30, at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

Advance tickets may be purchased at the Carson Senior Center's Finance Office, 911 Beverly Drive.

Tickets may be purchased at the Community Center the evening or afternoon of the performance.

Tickets cost $20 general admission; $10 seniors and children. Proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels and other senior programs.

Computer class offered at library

Carson City Library's Computer Tutor will provide free one-hour computer training sessions, noon-2 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

These one-on-one sessions will cover the World Wide Web or Microsoft Word.

Registration is required. Students should know how to use a keyboard. Students may sign up for a total of three, one-hour sessions.

The Carson City Library is located at 900 N. Roop St. To reserve an hour with the Computer Tutor or information, call 887-2244.

Calvary Pentecostal Church honors veterans May 24

The Calvary Pentecostal Church invites all military families and veterans as special guests to be honored with a patriotic service, 11:30 a.m., Sunday, May 24, 220 W. Winnie Lane. All are welcome to attend, non-military as well, in support of our troops. The Calvary Pentecostal Church launches a new ministry "Adopt Our Soldiers" that will adopt local soldiers and families providing care packages and spiritual support. Following the service a complimentary barbecue lunch will be served at Mills Park. Seating is limited. For information and to RSVP, call 882-2238.
