RENO (AP) " A group of conservative activists says it is launching a media campaign aimed at defeating Nevada Sen. Harry Reid in 2010.
The Our Country Deserves Better PAC held a news conference Monday in Reno to detail plans to spend $100,000 on radio, television and Internet in Nevada.
The Sacramento, Calif.-based group's television ads use a quote from former President Ronald Reagan to accuse the Democratic leader of being out of step with independent Nevadans.
The campaign coincides with a large fundraiser for Reid's re-election effort scheduled Tuesday in Las Vegas. President Barack Obama is slated to attend the event at the Caesar's Palace Colosseum.
Anti-tax advocate Sharron Angle, a possible Republican challenger to Reid, appeared at the Monday news conference.
