Supporters of a Dayton dog park plan to begin work on the project soon.
The Dayton Valley Dog Park Board of Directors and Committee plan to develop a 2.3-acre fenced park on the northwest side of Como Park on Old Dayton Valley Road once Lyon County approves final plans for the park, according to Susan Skaggs, Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce director.
No county money will be used to build the park.
County commissioners approved the idea for the project last week, Skaggs said.
The project is a partnership involving the county, the state and the Chamber of Commerce of Dayton and Fallon, Skaggs said.
Volunteers and disabled workers will help develop the work under the partnership, she said.
