A former restaurant owner who allegedly beat and stabbed his longtime girlfriend Saturday morning in her Carson City home was jailed Thursday on a warrant for attempted murder.
Xue Bao Chen, 46, was arrested at his apartment in Placerville, Calif., about 8:45 a.m. by Carson City detectives and members of the Placer County Sheriff's Office. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
"He was taken into custody without incident, interviewed and booked into the Placer County jail," said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. "We are processing a governor's warrant for extradition back to Nevada."
According to police reports, officers were called to the victim's home in the 2600 block of Longridge Drive at 7:48 a.m. Saturday.
They were met by a woman bleeding from a gash on her right arm and Chen's girlfriend, Guina Wang, with severe cuts to her face, eyelids and neck.
Officers believed the stab wounds had punctured Wang's eyes, but doctors later determined her vision was unharmed. She has since been released from the hospital.
Carson Detective Craig Lowe said that on Friday night Wang and Chen argued over ownership of a restaurant on Highway 50 East. Both Wang and Chen have been listed as owners of the restaurant, but their names are no longer on any businesses in the city, according to the Carson City Business Licenses office.
According to Lowe, the next morning Chen attacked Wang and beat her "senseless." Wang's roommate allegedly saw Chen stabbing Wang, tried to intervene and also was cut.
Chen then fled the scene and was tracked to his home in Placerville, said Lowe.
According to court records, in 2005 Chen clubbed Wang in the head with a heavy object after arguing about the restaurant. He was arrested on a domestic battery charge that was later reduced to disorderly conduct. In 2007 all charges were dismissed because Wang was not cooperative, court records indicate.
