Obama, Abbas push for Israel solutions
WASHINGTON (AP) " President Barack Obama says Israel must halt the expansion of its West Bank settlements as part of a broader, hard-fought deal toward Middle East peace.
The president says Palestinians, too, must do their share by providing security in the West Bank and reducing anti-Israeli sentiment in school.
The two leaders met on a day when Israel rejected to freeze all construction in West Bank Jewish settlements.

WASHINGTON (AP) " When it comes to Sonia Sotomayor there is only one mystery: Her views on abortion rights. And that must be solved before she can be confirmed as a Supreme Court justice.
Sotomayor's nomination has reopened a politically and emotionally charged debate over abortion.
Unlike many liberal organizations that backed Sotomayor, abortion-rights groups are withholding their support until she answers questions on the court's 1973 legalization decision and the principles behind it.
