Road work continues this week in Carson

NV Energy will continue work to install an underground power line along Saliman Road between Colorado and Sonoma streets. The road will be restricted to one lane in each direction. Drivers may expect only minor delays if any.

The reconstruction of Curry Street from Koontz Lane to Rhodes Street is underway. This week's activities include utility work that will limit traffic to one lane with flaggers controlling traffic. Drivers can expect delays up to 10 minutes. Alternative routes are suggested.

Construction of the North Stewart Street extension from East John to North Roop streets is continuing. Restrictions, closures and detours are expected in the project area, including:

- Long from Fall to Roop streets will be open to local residents only and a detour will be provided.

- Moody from Adams to Lee streets will be closed to through traffic.

- Moody from Park to Roop street will be subject to partial closures or single lane restrictions with flaggers.

- The intersection of Burton and Moody streets will be subject to partial closure.

- The intersection of Park and Moody streets will be subject to partial closure.

- The intersection of David and Moody streets will be closed starting Tuesday and last about five days.

The Nevada Department of Transportation's work continues on the Carson City Freeway. Traffic controls are in place on East Fifth Street and on Fairview Drive, with one lane of traffic open in each direction on the overpasses.
