Born April 1, 1936 - Passed away Oct. 29, 2009

Born to George and Maggie Kitchen in Reno. Ron had the honor of being a 4th generation Nevadan who attended local schools and graduated from Reno High School. In pursuit of his greatest love, Ron joined the Air National Guard. He then began restoring and building numerous antique airplanes with his beloved partners and friends. Ron established "Yesterday Flyers" Museum at the Carson City Airport.

Ron not only had a true passion for aviation, but he also carried on the family tradition of construction. Following in his grandfather's footsteps as a carpenter, he began Ron Kitchen Construction. He built countless custom homes and large subdivisions in Carson City.

Ron Kitchen had a wonderful zest for life that included being with his family and friends, hiking, boating, shooting and family houseboat trips to Shasta.

After a valiant struggle, Ron passed away surrounded by his wife, family and friends. He is survived by his wife Rhonda, two brothers, nine children, 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three dogs. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association.

A Memorial Service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, at Reno Christian Fellowship. Walton Funeral Home, 875 W. 2nd Street, Reno is entrusted with arrangements.
