Winter worshippers will have a chance to win great prizes (lift tickets, gear, gift certificates and a Sierra Resort season pass) in the Snowcalling contest, the flagship event of the evening.

Participants are encouraged to perform their best snow ritual in the hopes that Mother Nature will hear their call and bless Lake Tahoe with a bounty of snowfall for the upcoming season. Local singers, dancers, musicians, yodelers, rappers, poets and all other talents are welcome to participate in this outrageous event, judged by Sierra Resort team riders and friends.

Participants are judged on volume, audience participation and creativity.

The legendary kickoff-to-winter begins at 7 p.m. with a live DJ spinning tunes from the back deck.

Local fitness trainer Lucas Wold will preset a nutrition lecture, "Rules Of The Game - Unstoppable Fitness Formula" 1-5 p.m. Saturday at the Capital City Volleyball Gym on Deer Run Road.
