The Western Nevada College international film festival features the Iranian film "Those Three" at 7 p.m. Friday. All Films are shown in Marlette Hall on the Carson City campus. Admission is $3. In "Those Three," just one day from completing their military training, three conscripts desert camp and escape into the frozen wilderness of northern Iran.

A reception will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday to honor the artists currently exhibiting their works in the Nevada Artists Association Galley at Carson Citys' Brewery Arts Center. "The Spirit of Nevada" show runs through Nov. 19.

The public is invited for wine, cheese and to meet the artists in the gallery.

Proscenium Players, Inc. announces auditions at 7 p.m. Monday for "Thieves' Carnival" by Jean Anouilh.

Auditions will be in the board room at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, 813 N. Carson Street, Carson City. Production dates are weekends of March 5-20. Call 887-0438 for more information.

The Nevada Arts Council is hosting free workshops about CultureGrants OnlineTM, the council's new application system for the Fiscal Year 2011 grant cycle.

The Carson City workshops are 9 a.m.-noon or 1-4 p.m. Monday at the Nevada Legislative Building, 401 S. Carson St.
