All sorts: Sixteen inches of snow is reported at the summit between here and Lake Bigler (Lake Tahoe). No poem upon the subject will be received at this office. Farmer Treadway is back on his ranch. He went to find a suitable place to exhibit that big pumpkin which he is raising for General Grant.

120 YEARS AGO

Fainted away: A lady passing near the Arlington block was observed suddenly to stagger and fall to the ground. Willis Clarke and Superintendent Ryland rushed to her side and carried her into Mrs. Knowles millinery shop. She soon revived and as she came to, saw the delightful array of new bonnets, ribbons and feathers. Before leaving she made large purchases of goods remarking that the sight of such goods is well calculated to make any woman fully recover from nervous shock.
