130 YEARS AGO

A Lady's Mistake: A Chinese person applied to a Carson lady for the job of sawing wood. In the meantime another Chinese person came along with a saw looking very much like the first Chinese person. When he started to work, the first Chinese person came back ... they began to jabber and then began to fight. When the lady went out she found the two tearing each other's clothes off and fencing with sticks of wood. They finally stopped fighting and went in opposite directions. The job was finally let out to a Washoe Indian who completed the job.

Nevada could have it: Russia has success in raising 80,000,000 rubles among her own people by means of lottery. Nevada could adopt a system of irrigation and increase the population of her State ten fold were it not for prejudice created by the so-called "moral" element who won't allow a lottery - unless they can have a grab at the stick.
