Carson High School's 15th annual craft fair kicks off tonight and will continue Saturday to raise money for a variety of clubs and sports programs.
"It's a great community event," said organizer Kathy Barbie. "I've had so many people volunteering to help out this year because it's such a good outlet for funding for the school, which is really hurting right now."
The fair begins at 5 p.m., with 135 booths and 125 vendors filling both gyms, the lobby, hallways and Senator Square.
Admission this evening is $2 and includes a ticket for tonight's raffle. It also covers admission for Saturday. Saturday's admission is $1.50 or $1 with a canned food item.
Barbie said that last year 11 barrels of food were collected to donate to Friends in Service Helping.
There also will be food and entertainment, including Santa Claus posing for photos with children and Carson High School drama students dressed as elves.
The school's English department also will be holding a book sale to raise money for the celebration to mark the completion of senior projects.
