SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Snowfall is causing slick conditions on Interstate 80 over the Sierra Nevada.
The California Highway Patrol says there have been about two dozen traffic accidents on the highway since snow began falling early Friday.
So far only minor injuries have been reported, but the crashes have backed up traffic.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Sierra until 10 Friday night and says up to a foot of snow could fall at higher elevations.
California Highway Patrol Officer Todd Kettwig says drivers using I-80 should be prepared with snow chains and slow down.
