Dear Mr. DeMar, executive officer:
A "BIG" thank you to the Women's Council of the Builder's Association, as well as other businesses involved with the Helping Hands Program.
I was one of 13 individuals who were selected to receive free help on Saturday, Sept. 26, with a much needed "honey-do" project. Sam Landis and Jim Feser, from Ridgeline Development, LLC, did a fabulous job of fixing a fence that was in dire need of repair; they finished the job in a blink of the eye.
In these economic times, it's always nice for businesses to occasionally lend a hand to those who may not have the discretionary means to pay for household projects.
When asked, "Why do I live in Carson City?" it's because there are many organizations as well as residents willing to give of their free time, stepping up to the plate to lend a hand for any and all types of community involvement. That's what sets Carson City apart from the rest!
This world would be a much better place politically and socially if individuals would put aside their differences and take care of one another.
Respectfully,
Christina D. Slade

The board and staff of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada would like to extend a special thank you to what could be termed The Big Four: Clark Russell and his staff at the Carson Station, who have given in the seven-figure range to the Club over the years in support of operations and the new facility; Garth Richards and Silver Oak Development whose donation and subsequent sale of land resulted in a nearly $1,000,000 donation to our Capital Campaign; a huge thanks to Dick Campagni/ Carson City Toyota who have contributed well over $250,000 to our "It Just Takes One" annual campaign to raise funds for annual operations; and finally to the Nevada Appeal/Sierra Nevada Media Group which has, over the years, contributed nearly a quarter of a million dollars to the construction of our new facility.
These four along with hundreds of other donors have made it possible for us to offer affordable, generation-changing programs to the youth in and around Carson City.
Now, more than ever it is critical that the Club continues to provide these services. Thanks to the Big Four and all of the community.

On behalf of the Bordewich-Bray Elementary School staff, we would like to give a special thank you to all the students, parents, and other friends who recently supported our children's education through various enrichment activities throughout the year.
Thanks also to the parents who helped with our event from counting the money, to handing out snacks, taking pictures, monitoring the track, and to Gracie our school Mascot. A special thank you to Veronica Camp who purchased our Otter Pops.
