Married couples will have the opportunity to renew their wedding vows during the three Sunday worship services at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1480 Douglas Ave. in Gardnerville.
"Marriage has taken a hit with divorce, same-sex marriage, and living together being a revolutionary lifestyle," said the Rev. Russell H. Howen, pastor emeritus of the congregation.
"Marriage is a planned blessing of God for a lifetime relationship of husbands and wives. However, couples daily need to commit themselves to each other. That's the reason for the 'renewal of marriage vows' Sunday."
Couples will stand before the altar for the renewal of their vows.
At the 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services, Pastor Howen will base his message titled "Marriage, Divorce, and Children," on the gospel for the day: Mark 10:2-16.
Jonathan Cleveland, director of Christian Education, will speak on the theme "Desperate Housewives and Their Spouses" at the 5 p.m. contemporary service.
The public is for any or all three services. For further information, call 782-8153.
