Carson City
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
• James Steven Sporer, 51, a transient, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of South Stewart Street on suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing and disorderly conduct. He allegedly would not cooperate with a deputy who found him preparing to sleep in a storage shed near the tennis courts at the old Boys & Girls Club. Bail was set at $654.
• A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 11:17 p.m. Wednesday on four misdemeanor warrants. Bail was set at $5,265.
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:
• Fight report on Mayflower Avenue at 1:57 a.m. When police arrived they instead found the occupants were rambunctious while playing beer pong, a drinking game. A woman was arrested on a warrant.
• Accident in the 600 block of West Nye Lane at 11:54 a.m.
• A woman on South Nevada Street reported finding a medicine-type bottle containing a "white powdery substance." The woman told dispatchers the substance smelled awful and it was not sugar. "She tasted it," the dispatch log states.
• A woman reported her 25-year-old daughter battered her and spit in her face at 12:53 p.m.
