Reno man shot after being mugged

RENO (AP) - Reno police are looking for two suspects they say mugged a man walking near the University of Nevada, Reno and then shot him in the thigh.

Police say the man was walking near Ninth Street and Evans Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Friday when he was approached by two men.

Police say they talked briefly before the suspects threatened him, took his wallet and ran. The victim gave chase but was shot in the hip. He as taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Both suspects are believed to be in their 20s. They were wearing dark clothing and knit caps.

Investigators say they may have been involved in a similar incident earlier that evening a few blocks away.
