RENO (AP) - A 16-year-old Reno girl who disappeared last week while riding her bike was found early Monday with her brother-in-law in Indiana, police said.

Karamjit Kaur was found unharmed at 5:45 a.m. with Parvinder Singh at America's Best Inn in Merrillville, Ind., police said.

Reno police spokesman Steve Frady said investigators were reviewing circumstances "to determine if there's any potential for criminal charges."

She said Kaur was with authorities in Merrillville, a suburb of Chicago. Singh was not in custody.

Kaur came to Nevada eight months ago from East India. On Wednesday, she told her family she was hot and left her house around 6:30 p.m. to ride the family's bike. She had no possessions with her.

When she didn't return within a half-hour, the family started looking for her, then called police.

Her silver-and-red mountain bike was found the next day at a skateboarding park, about a quarter-mile from her home.

Investigators on Sunday determined three boys found the bike about a block away from the girl's home, roughly 15 minutes after her mother said she was last seen, and took it to the park where they left it.

Authorities haven't said whether she left with Singh voluntarily.

Whan said students and staff at North Valleys High School helped identify Singh to get a lead on Kaur's whereabouts. Singh was visiting Reno before Kaur's disappearance.

Detectives worked through the night to locate her, with the assistance of the Reno office of the FBI and the Merrillville Gang Response Investigation Team, Whan said.
