YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. - Park officials say a weekend snowstorm has closed the highest elevation route through the Sierra Nevada.
Tioga Road remained closed Monday between Crane Flat and just east of Tioga Pass, the eastern entrance of Yosemite National Park.
The scenic road, at nearly 10,000 feet elevation, is closed much of the year due to heavy snowfall and the threat of avalanches.
Glacier Point Road also is closed from Badger Pass to Glacier Point.
Highway 41, which leads into the park from the south, is still open, but chains are required for a portion of the road.
