Mile High Jazz Band presents Autumn Jazz, a program of big-band music with vocalist Sheryl Adams, 8-10 p.m. Tuesday at Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St.

The program includes "Cruisin' for a Bluesin'," "Orilla del Mar," "All Right, You Win," and other jazz tunes.

General admission is $5 at the door; free for ages 18 and younger. Dance instruction, 6-7:30 p.m., an additional $5.

The 3rd annual Scandinavian Festival shows the rich tradition of the history and culture of Norway and all Scandinavia.

The festival is scheduled 10 a.m.-3 pm. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1201 Saliman Road in Carson City.

There will be demonstrations of traditional food, art forms and music and Exhibits on Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, plus raffles, door prizes and more.

The Grizzly Hackles will perform at the ArtBar, located at the Copeland Cultural Arts Center, 1572 Hwy 395 at 7 p.m. Friday.

Singers to audition for Bach's Magnificat

Experienced symphonic choral singers are needed for TOCCATA's production of J.S. Bach's Magnificat to be presented Feb. 6-9.

The Orchestra and Community Choral Artists of the Tahoe Area now has regional rehearsal cells to be conducted in Carson City, Reno, and Truckee.

Western Nevada College continues its Friday night series of films that span the continents and portray the lives and struggles of people of different cultures.

Friday, the series travels to Macedonia for Teona Strugar Mitevska's "I am from Titov Veles."

All films are English close captioned and shown at 7 p.m. at Marlette Hall in the Cedar Building. Cost is $3, and free to WNC students with college ID.

The Nevada Shakespeare Company's Halloween production of "Macbeth" - filled with sword fights, witches, blood lust, betrayal and justice - opens 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at Dayton Valley Country Club.

Piper's Opera House in Virginia City will host an additional performance at 8 p.m. Oct. 23 and performances at 8 p.m. Oct. 24, 29, 30 and 31 will be at the Laxalt Auditorium, 401 W. Second St., Reno.
