Holiday Evergreens and Benefit for Austin's House

Wow! I am amazed when this one e-mail from Austin's House comes each year. I jump on the Internet and write in, "How many more days until Christmas" and as always I think that's scary. OK, it's 78 more days and now is the time to order the finest fresh cut evergreen holiday wreaths and decorations. A portion of each purchase will benefit Austin's House. Enjoy the beauty of this holiday season with long lasting, fragrant evergreens direct from the Pacific Northwest.

These wonderful fresh-cut decorations are ideal for your home and also make the perfect holiday gift. They are very inexpensive for a beautiful noble fir and mixed evergreen wreath, door swag or table centerpiece. You may also order gifts to be delivered directly to the homes of your family and friends. The holiday evergreens arrive promptly the week before Thanksgiving. Orders for local pick up will be available on November 30.

WHO: Austin's House emergency shelter for abused and neglected children

WHAT: All holiday decorations are shipped direct from Sherwood Forest Farms in Northwest Washington State.

WHEN: The deadline for orders is Monday, Oct. 19.

COST: The 22-inch noble fir wreath is only $20 for local pick up. You may pay by check or with your Visa or MasterCard credit card.

CONTACT: To place your order, please contact Conrad Buedel at 775-267-6676 or tahoeconrad@charter.net.

Foster Kids Closet, Classey Seconds, Community Pregnancy Center

When you are ready to give items for babies away, here is a quick list of participating places that would love your generous donating of gentle used crib's, toddler beds, clean baby seats, booster seats and nicely washed baby clothes. Stephanie Cook at Foster Children's Closet e-mailed that she is looking for two cribs and one toddler bed.

A few bags of new diapers would be wonderful.

The ladies auxiliary at St. Teresa's, St. Paul's and St. Peters did a wonderful baby diapers drive with baby wipes lotion, homemade blankets and rattles one year and I can tell you some very lucky babies got the full works. We always forget the real little ones and teens. With Christmas around the corner and the economy being tight, a little something goes a long way.
