Three prisoners that schemed to break out of jail a short time ago, are still confined in their cells, on a short, short allowance of fresh air and sunshine. The jailer thinks they will not be badly sun-burnt by the time they go to trial.

Judge Farrington is expected to open his court Monday and it is reported a federal jury will be drawn at once for no less than 40 informations - most of those for selling liquor to the Indians, but much less than last winter. Last spring a member of the state police, who was dismissed, came forward saying he was made to "frame up" whiskey selling cases.
70 YEARS AGO
The board of county commissioners heard George Kellet, J.H. Johnson and F. Shannon, members of the Lake Tahoe-Sierra Association requesting cooperation in promoting Tahoe and the community. The group said requests for maps has increased to 3,000 this year, up from 700 in other seasons.
50 YEARS AGO
State workers had a respite from their work schedule today as Gov. Grant Sawyer brought music to the front lawn of the Capitol. Jerry Colonna and his band played for an hour in a U.S. Savings Bond payroll deduction saving plan drive.
20 YEARS AGO
Gov. Bob Miller will receive a call from the White House requesting that low-level nuclear waste be stored in Nevada. Miller said it was unlikely he would approve of any request.
10 YEARS AGO
The state has asked District Judge Mike Griffin to sharply reduce or throw out a $5.8 million verdict for land for the freeway bypass.
