Clinton settles O'Brien, mayor 'feud'
(AP) - The nation's top diplomat has defused the facetious feud between Conan O'Brien and the mayor of Newark.
Hillary Rodham Clinton sent a video message chiding O'Brien that was featured on Thursday's episode of "The Tonight Show."
The quote-unquote "feud" between the TV host and Mayor Cory Booker began last month when O'Brien joked that Booker's new health care program consisted of a bus ticket out of gritty Newark. Booker replied, tongue in cheek, by banning O'Brien from the busy Newark airport.
Clinton told them to return to their core duties. For Booker, she says that means "leading Newark toward a new era of growth and prosperity."
She says that for O'Brien, it means "dancing around the stage and making lame jokes about my pantsuits."
Springfield to bare it on 'Californication'
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Rick Springfield will bare his backside when he guest stars on Showtime's "Californication."
"It's not full-frontal, but it's pretty much full on," the 60-year-old musician-actor says. "As long as it's for the part, I'm cool with it. And it's funny. It's not done to be particularly sexy."
Springfield will appear on four episodes, and he sheds his clothes by the end of the season. His first episode airs Sunday. He plays a washed-up movie star who wants to rebuild his career.
He says his character, also named Rick Springfield, is a "very twisted, warped version" of himself.
Springfield appeared on the daytime soap opera "General Hospital" in the early 1980s, when his hit song "Jessie's Girl" was a radio staple.
Damon, Affleck are also distant relatives
BOSTON (AP) - It seems Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are more than childhood pals and Hollywood collaborators.
According to the New England Genealogical Society, they're also cousins. Tenth cousins, once removed, that is.
Society researchers dug up evidence that both Damon and Affleck are descended from William Knowlton Jr. He was a bricklayer who came to the U.S. from England in the 1630s and settled in Ipswich.
The society said Friday that Affleck has lots of other famous relatives, including 16 U.S. presidents, Barack Obama among them, and Princess Diana.

The network says Anna Duggar and Mackynzie are doing well. The baby weighed 8 pounds and was 19.5 inches long.
