Mile High Jazz Band Presents Autumn Jazz, 8-10 p.m., Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St., across from the state legislature building. This program of big-band music features vocalist Sheryl Adams. Veteran Luncheon, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Carson Middle School Library. Eighth grade students will create placards to honor veterans for the annual CMS STAKE-OUT. A Veteran Luncheon will match local veterans with CMS students who do not have a family member or friend who has served in the armed forces. Seeking veterans who are willing to be interviewed (we will even provide lunch). Veterans are encouraged to bring photographs and memorabilia to share. "Learning to Add Life to Days," 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. TRIAD in conjunction with Saint Mary's Hospice and Carson Valley Medical Center will conduct its annual free Senior Educational Seminar. Multidisciplinary seminar on end-of-life care. After breakfast, the morning sessions begin at 8:15. This seminar is primarily designed for physicians, nurses, caregivers and seniors but it is open to all of those who might be interested. Nevada Business Connections October breakfast meeting, 8-9 a.m., Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St. This breakfast features Ross Miller, Nevada Secretary of State. On "Nevada's Business Climate." Doors will open at 7:30 a.m. The meeting is scheduled for exactly one hour. Cost is $20 for members and $25. Nevada Business Connections is a business recruitment and expansion organization formed in 2008. It serves Carson City, and Douglas, Lyon and Storey counties.
