Halloween Trick or Treat for foster children

Each year the Division of Child and Family Services provides children in foster care a fun and safe opportunity to treat or trick.

I received an e-mail from State of Nevada employee, Rose Ramos, stating that in lieu of decorating the office this year, her entire office would like to collect items to assist local children. Well this annual Halloween party is well worth assisting.

Some of these children have never been trick or treating. They have so much fun getting the opportunity to feel secure and get candy of course.

I give all the credit to the entire staff at Division of Child and Family Services, Carson Office. With their own money, they decorate, purchase and provide an indoor Halloween adventure for a night for children who, unfortunately, have been taken away from family because of abuse or neglect.

If you have gently used costumes from newborn to 18 years of age or would like to donate a pizza, some candy anything that would help this be a successful event, call and see what they need. You'll help.

The Kids in Transition clothing closet is in need this season. They have cleaned out the old and are looking for clothing donations for school-aged children. My son in college and his girlfriend just dropped off seven bags of very nice clothes. Remember there are high school children as well as elementary. Especially needed are hoodies, and smaller clothes for both girls and boys from sizes 7 to 12. Jeanette will even pick up clean clothing if you can't drop it off at the address below.
