Vice President Joe Biden is in Reno to help raise money for Sen. Harry Reid's re-election campaign and to discuss the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Biden arrived at the Reno-Tahoe Airport's Air Guard base Thursday evening.
Today he is scheduled to start the day with a $2,400-a-person pancake breakfast at the Grand Sierra Resort.
Former state senator and state Republican Chairman Sue Lowden plans to be in the Grand Sierra parking lot while that breakfast is under way inside, offering coffee and doughnuts to all comers in exchange for a canned food item to support the Northern Nevada Food Bank.
After the breakfast fundraiser, Biden heads for the University of Nevada, Reno where he will discuss the benefits and purposes of ARRA stimulus money. Attendance for that event is limited by the size of the Silver and Blue Room in Lawlor Events Center, which can only hold a couple of hundred people. Attendees had to sign up beforehand for the 11 a.m. stimulus event.
