This year has been a struggle for the Carson volleyball team to say the least, but on Thursday things finally started to go its way.
The Senators defeated Wooster in five sets, 25-18, 25-27, 22-25, 25-18 and 15-12, to earn their first victory in a deciding match this season. They were previously 0-for-10 this season in either third- or fifth-game situations.
"It was kind of a growing up match for us," Carson coach Justin Malley said.
Carson improved to 3-8 in the Sierra League and 5-21 overall. Wooster is also 3-8 in league.
Angela Augusta and Jeanette Van Sickle each scored 13 kills.
Augusta also had 25 digs to lead the Senators, while Makayla Drahos added 16 and Alexis Church had 15.
Church, Drahos and McAllister-Daggs each had three aces.
Meagan Nuckolls added 25 assists.
The Senators will play at Damonte Ranch at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
