LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation says it'll keep its unemployment insurance telephone claim centers open this Saturday due to high demand for claims calls.
Customer service phones will be staffed from 8 a.m. to
3 p.m. in Northern and Southern Nevada to accommodate record numbers of people seeking unemployment benefits.
Officials note that a bill to extend emergency benefits for an additional 50 percent or up to 13 weeks is still pending in Congress.
State extended benefit claims must be filed through the call centers by selecting "Option 5" after the language selection.
Regular and emergency unemployment compensation claims may be filed on the Internet at www.express
claim.org.
Claim center telephone numbers are 775-684-0350 in Northern Nevada and 702-486-0350 in Southern Nevada.
