Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran Church showcases their new organ with a concert by organist Jeannine Jordan at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The church has acquired a new Rodgers Trillium Masterpiece organ, whose authentic pipe organ sound is created with digital technology. The concert includes a performance by the Shepherd of the Sierra choir and the music of Bach, Handel, Telemann and contemporary composers played by Jordan on the new instrument.

Performer and teacher Jordan has a doctorate of musical arts in organ performance from the University of Oregon. She held adjunct teaching positions at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa, and at the University of Portland, Concordia College, and Portland State University. She served several congregations in her church music ministry and is a longtime member of the American Guild of Organists.

Jordan has recorded the CDs, "Thine is the Glory" on Celebration Records, "Bravo! Baroque" on Silver Recordings and "A Cansler Christmas" on SuperGift Records. Jordan and husband David Jordan released the "From Sea to Shining Sea" DVD in 2008 featuring live performances on historic organs throughout the United States.

Jordan has published American organ solos including a 19th century collection that she compiled and edited.

Free will offering taken at the end of the concert. Meet the artist at a reception in the fellowship hall.
