RUSTON, La. (AP) - Ross Jenkins passed for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead Louisiana Tech to a 45-7 win over New Mexico State on Saturday.
Daniel Porter added 132 yards for the Bulldogs (3-3, 2-1 Western Athletic Conference), who won their third home game of the season.
Jenkins was 11 of 19 for 204 yards. He threw two touchdown passes to Dennis Morris, who had a career-high 126 receiving yards. Jenkins' third scoring pass was pulled down by Adrian Linwood.
Louisiana Tech scored on its first three possessions to pull away from the Aggies (3-4, 1-2).
Matt Nelson kicked a 26-yard field goal on the Bulldogs' opening drive, followed by a 10-yard touchdown run by Myke Compton on their next possession. Louisiana Tech then converted one of two New Mexico State first-half turnovers into seven points when Jenkins scored on a 1-yard run.
The Bulldogs led 24-0 at the half.
New Mexico State managed only 142 yards of offense and the Aggies' lone score came on a 38-yard fumble return by Davon House in the fourth quarter.
Louisiana Tech amassed 540 yards of offense, including 315 on the ground. In addition to Porter's second 100-yard rushing game of the season, Lyle Fitte added 51 yards on the ground on only three carries, including a 26-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Trevor Walls was 10-for-12 for only 51 yards. Walls was replaced in the second-half by Jeff Fleming, who was 3 of 8 for 17 yards.
Seth Smith led New Mexico State with 32 yards on 13 carries.
