(AP) - Former Assemblywoman Sharron Angle says she will seek the Republican nomination to run against Harry Reid for the U.S. Senate in next year's election.
Angle, who has been exploring a possible run for months, made her official announcement Wednesday.
She joins about a dozen Republicans, including former state GOP chairwoman Sue Lowden and Danny Tarkanian, who have announced an intent to seek the seat held by Reid, the Senate Democratic majority leader.
Angle says her campaign will focus on core conservative issues of low taxes and less regulation.
