For the second time in Randy Roser's tenure as Carson High girls soccer coach, the Senators have put together an unbeaten season.

Carson closed out the regular season with a 1-1 tie Monday night against South Tahoe, coming from a one-goal deficit for the second time in three days.

Carson finished the regular season with an 11-0-3 record. Carson also enjoyed an unbeaten season in 2005. Carson has won four regular-season titles in seven years.

"It doesn't feel like we're undefeated," said Brenda Luquin, who scored Carson's only goal for the second straight game, this time tallying on a direct free kick in the 8th minute of the game. "It's always good (to go undefeated), but it bothers me that we didn't come away with a win tonight.

"We just weren't moving the ball. There were too many solo effort. We weren't playing as a team today."

It's certainly not the way you want enter the playoffs. The Carson girls will play the No. 4 team from the High Desert League Saturday at 2 p.m. at Damonte Ranch High School.

"I would have liked to see us play better," Roser said. "The intensity was a bit down. Their thoughts were somewhere else. Brenda had a good finish (on the direct kick). We had a couple of opportunities, but we didn't really do anything whenm we got into their one-third.

After Luquin's goal, Shelby Spicer knotted the game at 1 in the 18th minute when she followed in a shot that Carson freshman goalie Kenzie Tillitt was unable to hold on to.

Neiter team could score in the final 58 minutes, though Carson had some better looks at the goal than South Tahoe. Megan Jackson had three good looks in a 16-minute span, but was unable to convert.
