Carson City road report for Oct. 28-31

Work is continuing this week on the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Carson Street and Eagle Station Lane, which is located between Koontz Lane and Clearview Drive. During construction, one lane in each direction may be closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The reconstruction of Curry Street from Koontz Lane to Rhodes Street is under way. The following lane closures are expected to occur:

• South Curry Street reduced to single-lane traffic with delays from Rhodes Street to Koontz Lane 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Rhodes Street reduced to single-lane traffic with delays from Carson Street to South Curry Street 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Construction of the North Stewart Street Extension from East John Street to North Roop Street is continuing. The following lane closures are expected to occur:

• The four-way stop at Stewart Street and Long Street will be modified to stop traffic on Long Street only.

• Park Street is closed from Stewart Street to Fall Street.

• John Street is closed from Fall Street to Andrew Street through the completion of the project.

• Stewart Street closed from U.S. 50 East to John Street through Thursday.

• U.S. 50 East, eastbound left turn lane at Stewart Street closed through Thursday.

Construction of the Morgan Mill Road River Access Area is taking place. Drivers on Morgan Mill Road west of Deer Run Road should watch for truck traffic.

Frontage improvements will continue along the south side of Old Clear Creek Road approximately between Bodines Casino and Vista Grande Boulevard, including the area along Fuji Park. In addition, a temporary bus stop for the Jump Around Carson (JAC) service has been located and signed to the west of the current location, just east of Vista Grande Boulevard.

Carson Street will be closed on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Nevada Day Parade. Several connecting side streets also will be affected throughout the day by the Carson Street closure and Nevada Day Parade.
