A California State Parks plan to save $14.2 million will affect four Sierra parks, including Grover Hot Springs, Bodie, Sugar Pine Point and Donner Memorial.

Sierra District Superintendent Pam Armas said there won't be a significant change to Bodie State Historic Park in the near future.

Donner State Park museum will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays, Armas said.

Winter camping at Sugar Pine will be closed in one of the loops. Armas said people who want to winter camp may use Grover Hot Springs.

The pool at Grover Hot Springs will be closed additional days during the winter.

A list of parks was released by the parks department and appears at www.recordcourier.com.

The Tahoe Pyramid Bikeway is seeking public comments on plans for the Truckee River Canyon

portion of the future 116-mile path.

After five years of work along the Truckee River in Nevada, connecting roads in trails to create a continuous bike route from lake to lake, the group is turning to the California side, seeking a number of grants for the work between Verdi and Hirschdale, just east of Truckee.

The project's environmental documents, an "Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration," are available at the California Clearinghouse for public comment through the month of November, and a meeting will take place at the Truckee-Donner Recreation and Parks District on Dec. 10.

To get a copy of the environmental study or to learn more, contact tahoepyramidbike@aol.com, or the recreation and park district.
