Kudos plus to the outstanding men and women of the Nevada National Guard, the Carson City Department of Health and Human Services and everyone that made things happen on Saturday, Oct. 10.
The flu shot clinic at the National Guard Headquarters was incredibly well-organized and efficient. Thanks for all you do and God bless America.

It must not go unnoticed that several people at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center be recognized for their more than amazing compassion towards the human race.
On Aug.14, a long-time Nevada resident and professional musician in the Reno/Tahoe area (Daniel Palmer-Brother Dan) was rushed to the hospital by ambulance at around 7 p.m. My apologies, but I do not remember the names of the five men who arrived in the ambulance but they are responsible for the first saving of Brother Dan's life.
Once in the emergency room, Dr. Jack, Steve and the other members of the team used all of their knowledge, expertise and quick thinking to again breathe life into our precious Dan.
The next day, Meiling Wang, the ICU nurse, went above and beyond her call of duty - she needs to be nominated for Time Magazine's woman of the year. Meiling not only again saved Brother Dan's life, she cared when Dan made all of his mini-miracle steps to want to survive.
Dr. Vijay Maiya and Richard Elmquist played a huge part in the success of everything that went on the week Brother Dan spent in ICU. To all of you, thank you just isn't enough. We are working through a very paper-oriented system to have Brother Dan seen by the life-saving doctors that are next on our journey. Daniel Palmer is a walking miracle and we wish for all of you out there to send your love and support his way.
