LAS VEGAS - The Las Vegas Review-Journal is accusing U.S. Sen. Harry Reid of "bully behavior."

Nevada's largest newspaper says the Democratic majority leader threatened it when he told its advertising director he hopes the paper goes out of business.

The newspaper's publisher and editor have a history of conservative opinions that differ from Reid's.

A Reid spokesman said Tuesday that Reid wasn't threatening the paper with the comments made before a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce luncheon last week.

But Review-Journal Publisher Sherman Frederick says he considers the remarks a "full-on threat."

Frederick wrote in a Sunday column that Reid should serve Nevadans, not "sound like he's shaking them down."

Frederick used a blog post Tuesday to accuse Reid of threatening other media in the past.
