The Nevada Highway Patrol is seeking the help of the public with a hit and run injury accident involving two vehicles that happened shortly before noon today on westbound Highway 50 in Dayton between Enterprise Way and Segale Road.

According to Trooper Chuck Allen, it appears that a black Mercedes four-door sedan may have caused a yellow Toyota pickup truck to crash resulting in substantial injuries to that driver, Steven R. Lamarre, 32, of Dayton.

A friend of Lamarre's, following in a different vehicle, witnessed the accident and observed the black sedan speed away from the scene.

Troopers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or observed a driving pattern of the sedan prior to the accident and/or when the sedan continued west on Highway 50 from the scene.

Witnesses or any one with additional information may call the DPS-Communications Center directly at (775) 687-0400 or Trooper Eric Gallagher of the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) at (775) 689-4661 regarding case #NHP-0909070764.
