Mayor to address Chamber breakfast

Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell will speak at the Carson City Chamber of Commerce's "Changing Community" breakfast at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Carson Nugget.

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce will have its monthly mixer at Red's Old 395 Grill at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The event is free, and a good place to network with other business professionals.

New networking opportunities in Carson

A new networking resource is available for Carson area businesses. CAMPN, the Carson Area Marketing & PR Network, began this summer to service marketing and communications professionals, as well as small business owners who would like to learn more about marketing their products or services.

The group meets once a month to brainstorm marketing solutions for each other, to share important resources and to learn about how to apply new technology to job challenges.

Started by Drew Simmons of Marilyn Lewis State Farm and Christel Hall of PRowrite Public Relations, the group's structure is informal. There is no charge for regular meetings, usually on the third Wednesday of each month. Meeting location is at Marilyn Lewis State Farm, 321 W. Winnie Lane in Carson City.

Mechanics lien law seminar scheduled

A seminar by attorney Jerry M. Snyder on mechanics lien law will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 30 at the Pro Group Management Office, 575 S. Saliman Road. This seminar will be available for Las Vegas members via video conference.

Call the Builders Association of Western Nevada, 882-4353, to request a registration form. This is the last mechanics lien law seminar of this year.


NBC September breakfast meeting

The next monthly Nevada Business Connections breakfast meeting will be on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 8 a.m. at the Carson Nugget.

This breakfast features two speakers: D. J. Whittemore of Western Nevada College and College World Series coach, will present "Developing Tomorrow's Leaders."

Guy Rocha, Nevada State archivist emeritus, will present "Nevada Classic Stories."

Krolicki to deliver State of the Economy

Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki will be the keynote speaker for the Northern Nevada Development Authority's State of the Economy event on Sept. 30 at the Carson Nugget.

Krolicki will share the successes of the state's economic development efforts in recent months within the Sierra region. He will emphasize Nevada's ongoing strengths while also highlighting the resources Nevada has available to businesses.

Also speaking will be Michael Skaggs, executive director of the Nevada Commission on Economic Development, and Rob Hooper, NNDA executive director.
