A Dayton man was killed today when he lost control of his motorcycle on College Parkway.
The 46-year-old man was westbound in a curve of the road south of the airport entrance when he struck the curb and struggled for several feet to regain control, said Deputy Darin Riggin.
When the BMW motorcycle jumped the curb, the man was ejected and sustained fatal injuries just before 6 p.m., Riggin said.
He said accident was witnessed by an acquaintance who was riding his own bike directly behind the victim at the time. The two were heading to the friend's house from a Highway 50 East bar so the victim could give an estimate on work he was to perform for his friend.
Riggin said it doesn't appear that speed was a factor.
The victim's name is being withheld until next of kin have been notified.
Both directions of travel on College Parkway between Nye Lane and Airport Road were shut down for about two and a half hours.
The Nevada Highway Patrol was called out to assist in the investigation.
