LAS VEGAS (AP) - Clark County fire officials say an electrical fire caused some guests and staff to be evacuated from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sunday afternoon.

Fire department spokesman Scott Allison says the fire was reported at 3:52 p.m. Firefighters located a fire between walls on the second floor of an electrical room, Allison told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The fire caused a lot of smoke, but no heavy flames. It was extinguished within 35 minutes.

Allison says two people were treated at the scene for health issues related to smoke.

In a statement, hotel officials say the fire was in a construction zone and that the evacuation was only a precaution. It's unclear how many people left the building.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. Both hotel and fire officials are investigating.
