Obituary: Marc Douglas Brogan

Marc Douglas Brogan, 51, beloved husband, father, brother, son and friend, died Thursday, September 3, 2009, in Victorville, Calif., from complications following surgery. His boisterous personality and exuberant laughter will be sadly missed.

Marc was born October 1, 1957, in Monterey, Calif., to Diane Brogan, now deceased, and Commander Robert Brogan, U.S. Navy (retired) still living in Carson City. Marc is survived by his loving wife Sandy and daughter Erin Lee, 19, who is currently attending California State University at San Bernardino.

Marc is a 1975 graduate of Carson High School where he served as student body president, was an honor roll student, a varsity letterman in football and wrestling, and commander of the Junior ROTC program. Since graduating from California State University, Fullerton in 1982, he held increasingly more responsible positions in sales and sales management. As a lifelong salesman, he garnered numerous accolades and mentored countless novice sales associates. An active member of the Victor Valley community, Marc volunteered as a youth soccer coach and with the local neighborhood watch program.

Marc is remembered as a dedicated family man and a wonderful friend. Other immediate members of Marc's family include Dr. Kelle Brogan, her spouse Kim Crawford and their children Diana, Gary and George; Lieutenant Commander Sean Brogan, U.S. Navy (retired) his spouse Lani and their son Donovan; Captain Erin Brogan, U.S. Coast Guard, his spouse Melissa and their children Duke and Ian; Lloyd Brogan, his spouse Sally and their children Michelle, Stacy and Sean.

The memorial will be at 2 p.m. September 26, 2009, at the Zion Lutheran Church, 15342 Jeraldo Drive, Victorville, CA, (760) 245-9725. A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony.

Sandy, Erin and the Brogan family would like to recognize the excellent care Marc received at UCI medical center from doctors Nimisha K. Parekh, Dhruvil Gandhi and Michael J. Stamos.
