STATELINE, Nev. (AP) - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed a businessman to the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Governing Board.
Casey Beyer's appointment was announced Wednesday. Beyer replaces California state Sen. Tim Leslie, who left the board in January.
Beyer is a native of northern Nevada and lives in Manhattan Beach, Calif. His family has owned property near Tahoe for two generations. He is a consultant for independent energy companies.
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency was established in 1969 through an agreement between California and Nevada. The agency oversees land use and environmental protection in the Lake Tahoe Basin. It has a 15-member governing board.
