Carson City and the Department of Transporta-tion have scheduled a celebration Saturday morning to announce the completion of the newest section of the Carson Bypass.
The "Fun Run/Walk/Bike" event begins at 8 a.m. Satur-day morning in the southbound lanes of the freeway just south of High-way 50. Participants will travel south on the new roadway to Fair-view Drive, then turn north in the northbound lanes.
NDOT spokesman Scott Magruder said the public is invited to join.
The freeway itself is schedule to open to vehicles Sept. 24.
